South Karelia will be profiled as a pioneer in Finland-Asia cooperation and one of the most appealing research, development and innovation environments for Asian partners. The aim is to build the Asian Knowledge Hub in South Karelia region, which will enable expanding and diversifying cooperation with Asian partners as well as deepening the implementation of smart specialization in the region.
The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund together with the local partners as Lappeenranta-Imatra urban city bureau and LUT university.
The duration of the EKA-Hub project is from 1st of January 2020 to 31st of December 2022.
