The importance of Asian growth market has been the driving force for the Regional council to initiate the South Karelia Asia project. The two-year project started in 1st of December 2017 and will continue until the end of 2019. The budget of the project is 198 485 euros.
In the first phase of the project, South Karelia will be the first region in Finland to launch a regional level Asia strategy. The strategy commits shareholders and stakeholders in the region and crystalizes the joint vision in Asia cooperation and relations.
